TERMS OF USE

Terms of Use.

Effective 1 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Triffin F.Z.E ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of the Triffin app and its related online service (together, the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms, including the Community rules below, and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

About us

The App is developed and operated by Triffin F.Z.E, B.C. 1309418, Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates. You can contact us at support@triffin.app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.

Your account

You sign in to the App with Google, with Sign in with Apple, or with your email address and a password. With Google or Apple, we receive the account details described in our Privacy Policy from the provider you choose.

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your device, your password and your sign-in provider account secure. Contact us at support@triffin.app if you believe someone has used your account without your permission.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the App (Delete account). You can restore it by signing in again within 30 days; after that it is permanently erased, as our Privacy Policy describes. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play (see Plans, credits and subscriptions below).

Health and nutrition disclaimer

The App estimates the dish, ingredients, portion size, calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins and minerals of your meals using artificial intelligence (AI) models. These figures, and the health notes, captions, recipes, daily tips, coaching tips and week review tips the App shows, and the vitamins and minerals, food suggestions and recommendations on the Week page, are generated automatically and are approximations. The vitamins and minerals are estimates from the food you log, not a blood test. They can be wrong or incomplete, for example when food, ingredients or portion sizes are hard to see in a photo.

The next-meal suggestions on Today are recipes from the App's own catalogue, and the calories and nutrients shown with them are the recipe's, per serving. When you choose to buy one, the restaurant shown is a Google Maps search result for the dish's name: we do not check what it serves, and its dish can differ from the recipe. The App does not order food or take payment for it, and logging the meal records the recipe's figures. In the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, when a restaurant is shown for a suggestion you choose to buy, the App can also open noon Food: it copies the restaurant's name for you to search for there. We do not check whether noon Food lists that restaurant. noon is a separate service that we are not affiliated with, and anything you order there is between you and noon, under its terms.

The App is for general information and personal tracking only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional or dietary advice, diagnosis or treatment. Do not rely on it to manage a medical condition, food allergy or intolerance, eating disorder, pregnancy, diabetes or any other situation where accurate nutrition information matters. Speak to a doctor, registered dietitian or other qualified health professional before making decisions about your diet or health. The App's Sources & methodology page (in Settings) explains how your targets are calculated.

If you choose to estimate your body fat from a photo, the result is a rough visual range produced by the same kind of AI model, not a measurement. It is not validated for body-composition accuracy, it is not a body-composition scan, and it can be wrong by a wide margin. Treat it as a starting number you can correct, and do not use it to manage a medical condition, an eating disorder, or any decision where an accurate figure matters. The feature is optional: the App works fully without it, and your height and weight already produce a plan.

The calories the App credits for exercise are estimates too. For a workout you log by hand they are worked out from the sport, the minutes and how hard you say it felt and, if you turn on Refine with AI, from a note on how the session went, which an AI model weighs; or they are the calorie figure you enter from a watch or machine, used as you type it. For activity from Apple Health, WHOOP or Strava they are worked out from what that service reports. They can be wrong, and they are no guide to how much you should train.

If you turn on Apple Health sync, the calories of the meals you log are saved there as estimates. You can review or delete them in that app.

Plans, credits and subscriptions

The App's AI features (photo and typed estimates, menu picks, recipe writing and imports, share captions and AI-costed workouts) use credits. Each action uses a set number of credits; a photo estimate or a menu read uses more than a typed estimate. Logging a meal by typing its numbers yourself uses none. If a request fails because the AI service did not answer, or the photo is refused as not being a meal or a menu, its credits are given back.

Subscriptions and top-ups are sold through Apple In-App Purchase on iPhone and through Google Play's billing system on Android:

Community rules

The App lets you claim a public handle and share meals and recipes, write captions and comments, and repost other people's posts. Your profile, posts, captions, comments and reposts can be seen by other people. These rules are part of these Terms, and you agree to them before you post. The App asks for your agreement, with an unticked "I agree", before you claim a handle and, if you have not agreed yet, before your first post, comment, repost, caption or profile photo.

Triffin has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.

Not allowed:

What we check: Words and photos are checked before they appear. Anything that breaks these rules is refused, and a photo that can't be checked waits for our review before anyone else sees it. Captions, comments, reposts, handles, display names and locations go through a word filter, and shared photos and profile photos are checked by an AI moderation model (see our Privacy Policy). A photo the check refuses counts as a strike against the account, and three strikes in 90 days suspend posting.

What you can do: Every profile, post, comment and repost has a ••• menu to report it. You can also hide any post from your feed and block any account; hiding and blocking take effect at once. Reporting a post also hides it from your own feed.

What we do: We act on every report within 24 hours: objectionable content is removed and the account that posted it is banned. A banned account's profile and content are hidden from everyone else, and it can no longer post, comment, repost or follow. We may also remove content or suspend an account without a report when it breaks these rules.

When we remove something you shared, give your account a strike or ban it, the App tells you on the You tab what we decided, why, what led to it (another user's report, a notice of illegal content, our automated photo check or our own review), and whether a person or the automated check decided. If you think a decision is wrong, write to support@triffin.app and a person will look at it again. You can also take it to court.

You are responsible for what you post. You must have the right to share it, and it must not show other people without their permission. Questions or a problem? Write to support@triffin.app.

Acceptable use

When using the App, you agree not to:

Reporting illegal content

Anyone, with or without an account, can tell us about content in the App that they believe is illegal, such as a copyright infringement, by email to support@triffin.app. In the App, the ••• menu on a profile, post, comment or repost offers "Illegal content? Send a notice", which starts that email with the content already identified.

A notice should include:

We confirm that we received the notice, decide on it without undue delay, and tell you our decision and how you can contest it. The person who posted the content is told of any decision about it and why, but not who sent the notice.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, notes, captions, comments and other content you add to the App ("Your Content"). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process and transmit Your Content only as needed to provide the App to you and to the people you share it with. That includes sending your meal photos, meal details, profile and the other data described in our Privacy Policy to our AI service providers when you allow AI processing, and checking the photos you share with the AI moderation model. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems.

Content you share inside the App (a shared meal or recipe, a caption, a comment, a repost, your profile) is visible to other users according to your profile's audience setting. You can unshare it or delete it at any time.

Only upload photos of food that you are comfortable having processed. Avoid including people, documents or other personal information in your photos.

When you share a meal card or photo to another app, that app's terms and privacy policy apply to what you share.

Our intellectual property

The App, including its software, design, text and graphics, is owned by Triffin F.Z.E or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes. We keep all rights not expressly granted to you.

Third-party services

The App relies on services provided by others, including Apple (App Store, In-App Purchase, Sign in with Apple, Apple Health and push notifications), Google (Google Sign-In, Google Play, the Gemini AI models, Google Maps Platform and push notifications on Android), Anthropic (the Claude AI model behind daily tips), OpenRouter (which routes our requests to those AI models), Perplexity (nutrition and menu search), RevenueCat (subscription management), Expo (push notification delivery), WHOOP and Strava (if you link them) and our hosting providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for services we do not control.

You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the App, such as your mobile data service agreement and, if you link them, the WHOOP and Strava terms.

Apps downloaded from the Apple App Store

If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/appstore/dev/stdeula/) also applies to your use of the App, and these Terms add to it. In addition:

Ending your use

You can stop using the App at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or end your access to the App, or ban your account from the community features, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, including the Community rules, or if we are required to do so by law. If Apple tells us that consent for an account's use of the App has been withdrawn, we disable that account and delete it. If we stop offering the App, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue after your use ends (such as the disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update the App and change or remove features, including what each plan includes. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will change the effective date above, and for material changes we will let you know in the App or by other reasonable means before they take effect. If you keep using the App after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that nutrition estimates will be accurate.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of the United Arab Emirates, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
